You've Changed

One of the biggest complaints people have about their spouses is that they have changed.

The next biggest complaint is that they haven't changed.

People Are Who They Are

People show us who they are, usually very early in the relationship. I never quite understand the person who complains about being miserably married to a workaholic, a liar, a slob, a control freak, etc., etc., and then admits that this person was always this way, even before they married.

Mutual Admiration

One of the most important components of a successful relationship is sharing fondness and admiration.


 

Bad Flowers

One afternoon last week, I noticed a box of flowers on the front porch. It was the standard box used by a well-known flower company. I wasn't sure how long it had been there (unfortunately the delivery drivers in this neighborhood have a habit of dumping packages on the porch without ringing the bell), but it was probably no more than a couple of hours.
