We met when we were still young. I remember contemplating what the future might be like, and it seemed to me that it would be pretty easy to love each other as we grew old.
Some couples drift apart over time. Others grow even closer. The secret is remembering to always turn toward each other, even when life, with all its distractions and busyness, urges you to turn away.
What I have learned is that gray hair and a few wrinkles don't really matter. What matters is knowing who we really are, seeing and appreciating each other, not only as who we once were, but as who we have become.
